Le Dimitile rises above Entre-Deux on Réunion, a French territory in the Indian Ocean. This planèze in the Piton des Neiges massif is known for its Cilaos-facing viewpoint and Camp Marron, which introduces the history of escaped enslaved people. This profile retains 1,837 m for the named Dimitile locality and viewpoint area: Wikidata qualifies this value as a lieu-dit and separately qualifies 2,200 m as a summit. The Randopitons guide dated 3 February 2026 describes a loop from Bras Long school via Coteau Sec, Bayonne, the Dimitile viewpoint, Grande Jument and the informal Bras Long trail. Its 18.6 km and 1,950 m ascent describe the whole loop. The source mentions official Bayonne closure, poor maintenance, narrow cliffside sections and rockfalls; this description does not recommend entering a closed trail. Check official ONF status before planning a visit.

Sentier Bœuf–La Chapelle dan Piste Jean Dubard

This Randopitons loop starts at the end of the public road towards Dimitile near Ravine Argamasse, not in central Entre-Deux. Climb through forest on Bœuf–Chapelle, continue to the Cilaos viewpoint and descend on the Jean Dubard track. The 14 km, 800 m ascent and five-hour figures apply to this upper-start loop. Roots and soil can be slippery; the guide suggests seeing the panorama before visiting Camp Marron to beat the clouds.

Narrow sections near the Bras Long sources, slippery wet ground and the final street connections require attention.

Climbing Experiences

Le Dimitile trip reports combine the Cilaos panorama with visits to Camp Marron. Early starts help beat the clouds; rain, slippery ground and road connections back to the village feature in personal accounts. Bœuf–Chapelle starts higher than the village approaches. Bayonne is much more demanding: the February 2026 Randopitons guide mentions official closure and trail deterioration, so older vlogs and blogs do not establish current access.
