Description
Keli Ebulobo — better known as Mount Ebulobo, and also called Emburombu or Puncak Nage Keo — is an active stratovolcano about 2,124 m high in the southern part of Nagekeo Regency on Flores island, East Nusa Tenggara. It rises above the town of Boawae on its northwestern flank and is recognizable for its symmetrical cone topped by a flat lava dome. Its recorded eruptive history dates back to 1830 and includes lava flows on the northern slope and explosive eruptions from the summit crater, with events in 1888, 1910, 1924, 1938, 1941, 1969 and 2013 among others. The slopes are cloaked in dense tropical forest, making the climb both demanding and scenic, and Ebulobo is one of the more popular peaks for hikers in East Nusa Tenggara. At its foot lies the traditional village of Pajoreja, which offers a taste of local culture. Because the volcano remains active, any climbing plans should follow its current activity status.

Routes
Jalur puncak via Boawae
Sedang–menantangThe standard climbing route up Ebulobo from Boawae in Nagekeo Regency. It passes through tropical forest low down, then open rocky slopes to the summit crater rim with its flat lava dome. Usually done with a local guide; follow the volcano's activity status.
SourcePendakian sunrise ke bibir kawah
Menantang (dini hari)A popular variation: start before dawn to reach the crater rim at sunrise for 360° views over Flores. Requires good pacing and lighting; the upper slopes are open and cold with wind.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Ebulobo accounts typically start from Boawae in Nagekeo Regency, climbing through tropical forest and then open rocky slopes to the summit crater rim. Recurring themes: sunrise climbs racing the morning light for 360° Flores views, the symmetrical cone with its flat lava dome, tropical heat low down and cold wind up high, and the volcano's active status — so many hikers take a local guide and adapt plans to crater conditions.
