- Difficulty
Description
Akadake (2,899 m) is the highest summit of Japan’s Yatsugatake range, on the Nagano–Yamanashi border. The western approach through Minoto links wooded valleys to Gyōja-goya and rocky summit ridges. The Jizō and Bunzaburo trails include ladders and chain-assisted sections. First-hand accounts show how hut stays can support an itinerary while changing weather can still force plans to change.

Routes
Akadake → Nakadake → Amidadake dari Minoto
Scrambling berbatu / Rocky scramblingAn extension via Jizō Ridge to Akadake, Nakadake and Amidadake, returning through Nakadake col and Gyōja-goya. The author started at 05:00 and returned at 14:00; that timing is not a benchmark for every hiker.

Sulit–menengah — hiking alpine dengan scrambling berbatu dan segmen rantai/tangga besi di punggungan atasFrom Minotoguchi, follow Minoto and Minamisawa to Gyōja-goya, then climb Jizō Ridge to Tenbou-so and the summit. The 100 Peaks account records a storm delay before descending Bunzaburo; it is a historical itinerary, not a standard timing estimate.

These videos and field accounts cover day hikes, hut trips and winter attempts on Akadake. Three added reports document waiting out a storm in a hut, a rainy Bunzaburo ascent and a link to Amidadake. Reported conditions are historical observations, not a current trail bulletin.
