Description
The W Trek in Torres del Paine National Park, Chilean Patagonia, is one of the world's most celebrated multi-day hikes. The ~80 km W-shaped route links the park's three iconic highlights: Mirador Las Torres (the three soaring granite towers symbolising Patagonia), Valle del Francés with its hanging glacier and rock amphitheatre, and the turquoise Grey Glacier at the western arm. Completed in 4–6 days, no special hiking permit is needed beyond the CONAF entrance fee, but advance booking of refugios or campsites is essential as slots fill months ahead. Patagonian weather can change dramatically within hours.
Trail Highlights
Mirador Las Torres (the three iconic granite towers), Valle del Francés with dramatic cliffs, the turquoise-blue Grey Glacier, Lago Nordenskjöld, and Lago Grey.
