Description

Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hǔtiào Xiá) in Yunnan Province, China, is one of the world's deepest river canyons, carved where the Jinsha River — the upper Yangtze — squeezes through a narrow cleft between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. The classic hike follows the roughly 22 km High Trail, normally spread over two days, with its toughest section being the '28 Bends', a steep switchback climb of about 400 vertical metres. Along the way trekkers pass shady forest, sheer precipices, terraced farmland and traditional villages, staying at simple guesthouses en route. The trail is considered beginner-friendly when done over two days, but is best avoided during the July–September rainy season because of landslide risk.

Trail Highlights

Salah satu ngarai sungai terdalam di dunia (kedalaman ~3.790 m di atas Sungai Jinsha, hulu Yangtze), dijepit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5.596 m) dan Haba Snow Mountain (5.396 m); Batu Loncatan Harimau, air terjun, ladang berundak, dan desa tradisional Naxi
