Description
The Nanga Parbat Base Camp Trek via Fairy Meadows offers one of Pakistan's most awe-inspiring mountain experiences, placing trekkers at the foot of the world's ninth-highest peak (8,126 m). Starting from Raikot Bridge on the Karakoram Highway, a thrilling jeep ride up narrow cliffs leads to Tato village, from where a forest trail climbs to Fairy Meadows (3,300 m) — an alpine meadow with unobstructed views of the Rakhiot face. The route continues through Beyal Camp and Reflection Lake to Herrligkoffer Base Camp at roughly 3,967 m. Difficulty is moderate, suitable for fit beginners, though proper acclimatization is still recommended.
Trail Highlights
The Fairy Meadows flower meadow (3,300 m) with direct panoramas of the north face of Nanga Parbat, the 'Killer Mountain' (8,126 m, the world's 9th highest mountain); Reflection Lake, Beyal Camp (3,500 m), the German Viewpoint, endemic alpine flora, and the legendary jeep ride climbing the narrow cliffs from Raikot Bridge to Tato
