Description

The Mount Roraima trek leads to the summit of the world's most iconic tepui — a sandstone tableland rising to about 2,810 m straight out of the Gran Sabana savanna in south-eastern Venezuela. Its otherworldly landscape inspired Arthur Conan Doyle's novel "The Lost World", and the plateau harbours endemic plants and animals found nowhere else. The classic route runs about 6 days / 5 nights over some 48 km round trip: from the village of Paraitepui across the Tek and Kukenán rivers to a base camp at the foot of the cliffs, then a steep climb up "La Rampa" — the only natural break in the wall that reaches the plateau. On top, trekkers sleep in rock overhangs known as "hotels" and explore a surreal terrain of black rock formations, crystal-clear pools, and the tri-border point where Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana meet. Every expedition must use a licensed Pemón guide departing from Santa Elena de Uairén, and the best season is December–April when the trail is drier.

Trail Highlights

Mendaki tepui paling terkenal di dunia — dataran tinggi batu pasir raksasa yang mengilhami novel "The Lost World" karya Arthur Conan Doyle. Menyeberangi savana Gran Sabana, mendaki tebing lewat "La Rampa" satu-satunya jalur alami ke puncak, bermalam di ceruk batu ("hotel"), serta menjelajahi lanskap surealis puncak: kristal kuarsa, kolam jacuzzi alami, El Foso, Maverick Rock, dan titik pertemuan tiga negara Venezuela–Brasil–Guyana.
