Description
The Kalalau Trail is an 18 km (11-mile) one-way route tracing the Nā Pali Coast on the north shore of Kauaʻi, Hawaii — often called one of the most beautiful, and most dangerous, hikes in the United States. From Keʻe Beach it climbs and descends across valleys and streams to the remote Kalalau Beach, passing famously narrow sections such as Crawlers Ledge with sheer drop-offs. The stream crossings at Hanakāpīʻai can rise rapidly during rain and demand caution. Anyone continuing past Hanakāpīʻai must hold a strictly limited camping permit.
Trail Highlights
