Description
The Hadrian's Wall Path is a 135 km (84-mile) coast-to-coast long-distance trail across northern England, running from Wallsend near Newcastle in the east to Bowness-on-Solway on the Cumbrian west coast. It follows the line of Hadrian's Wall, the northern frontier fortification of the Roman Empire begun in AD 122 and today part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Opened as England's 15th National Trail in 2003, the route is typically walked in six to eight days, passing through Newcastle and Carlisle, Roman forts such as Housesteads and Vindolanda, and the wildest, highest ground at Whinshields Crags (345 m) and Crag Lough. The walking is non-technical, but the exposed upland weather demands proper preparation.
Trail Highlights
Menyusuri sisa Tembok Hadrianus sepanjang 135 km dari pesisir ke pesisir — bagian dari Situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO 'Frontiers of the Roman Empire' — melewati benteng Romawi Housesteads, Chesters, Vindolanda, dan Birdoswald, serta bentang paling liar dan tinggi di Whinshields Crags dan Crag Lough.
