Description

The Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim is one of North America's most iconic multi-day hikes, crossing the full width of the Grand Canyon from the North Rim to the South Rim. The classic route descends the North Kaibab Trail for roughly 23 km and about 1,800 m down to the canyon floor, follows the Colorado River near Phantom Ranch, then climbs about 15 km up the Bright Angel Trail with some 1,400 m of ascent — roughly 38 km and nearly 3,000 m of elevation change in total. Fewer than one percent of Grand Canyon visitors ever go below the rim, so the crossing demands serious preparation, a pre-dawn start, and careful water and heat management, since inner-canyon temperatures can far exceed those at the rim. The National Park Service strongly recommends taking two or more days with an overnight at Bright Angel/Cottonwood or Phantom Ranch rather than attempting it in a single day. North Rim water and facilities are only available from roughly mid-May to mid-October.

Trail Highlights

Menyeberangi seluruh lebar Grand Canyon dari tepi ke tepi, melintasi miliaran tahun lapisan batuan, menuruni North Kaibab Trail melewati Roaring Springs dan Ribbon Falls, bermalam di dasar ngarai dekat Sungai Colorado di Phantom Ranch/Bright Angel, lalu mendaki keluar lewat Bright Angel Trail dengan panorama yang terus berubah.
