Description
The Everest Base Camp Trek is the world's most iconic base-camp trek, reaching the foot of Mount Everest in Nepal's Khumbu region. The ~12–14 day journey starts with a dramatic flight to Lukla, then climbs past Namche Bazaar, Tengboche monastery and Sherpa villages to EBC at 5,364 m and the Kala Patthar viewpoint (5,545 m). The main challenge is altitude and distance rather than technical difficulty, so gradual acclimatisation is essential. The trek runs through Sagarmatha National Park and is a bucket-list goal for trekkers worldwide.
