Description
The Dientes de Navarino Circuit is the southernmost multi-day trek on Earth, looping around the jagged granite 'teeth' of Navarino Island in Chilean Patagonia, roughly 300 km from Antarctica. The 4–5-day circuit departs from Puerto Williams — the world's southernmost town — and crosses glacial valleys, native lenga-beech forests, peat bogs, and exposed rocky ridgelines. Despite a modest maximum elevation of 860 m at Paso Virginia, the notoriously unpredictable sub-Antarctic weather and trackless terrain make this one of South America's most demanding wilderness treks.
Trail Highlights
The southernmost trek in the world; jagged granite peaks resembling giant teeth (max elevation 860 m); sub-Antarctic lenga and ñire forest; hidden glacial lagoons; Paso Virginia (the highest point); and total isolation just 300 km from Antarctica
