Description
The Cleveland Way links Helmsley with Filey on a horseshoe-shaped route through North Yorkshire. Its inland half crosses the hills and heather moorland of the North York Moors before the coastal half follows the shore from Saltburn-by-the-Sea to Filey. The 175 km distance follows National Trails, which recommends nine walking days; the upper planning range of 13 days reflects the more leisurely stage breakdown in Anthony Linick’s journal. Urra Moor is the high point at 454 metres, while repeated climbs and muddy coastal sections still demand stamina. Carry a map and clothing for changeable weather because phone reception is patchy.
Trail Highlights
Moorland North York Moors, Sutton Bank, Urra Moor, tebing pesisir Yorkshire, Whitby dan Robin Hood’s Bay.
