Description
The Annapurna Circuit is a legendary loop trek around Nepal's Annapurna massif, usually ~12–18 days. It climbs from the green Marsyangdi valley to Manang for acclimatisation, then crosses its high point Thorong La at 5,416 m before descending to Muktinath temple and the arid Mustang landscape. The trek is famous for its dramatic diversity of scenery and culture, from forest to high desert. The pre-dawn Thorong La crossing is its crux.
Trail Highlights
The Marsyangdi Valley, the village of Manang, the Thorong La crossing (5,416 m), the Muktinath temple, the Mustang desert, and the Kali Gandaki gorge.
