ABOUT

About Cacumen

Every peak, every trail — the world's mountains in one place, sourced and verified.

Cacumen is a portal for mountains & hiking worldwide — gathering mountain data, routes, the latest news, tips, gear reviews, real-time weather, and an interactive map in one place, complete with traceable sources.

The story behind it

I'm Paiman, a hiker from Klaten who fell in love with the mountains. Cacumen was born from one simple frustration: mountain information is scattered across many places, in many languages, and often without clear sources. I wanted it all in one place — tidy, easy to search, and traceable to its sources.

From the peaks of Indonesia to ranges at the ends of the earth, Cacumen is made for anyone who longs for the mountains — whether you're preparing your first steps onto a trail, or already know the cold of pre-dawn near a summit by heart.

Our principles

Public information, gathered in one place

All content on Cacumen comes from public information that is already available and accessible to anyone — open encyclopedias, open maps, official national park & geological agency sites, news outlets, and public posts from the hiking community. What we do is gather, tidy, and translate it all into one place so it's easy to search and compare, complete with links to the originals.

The goal is simple: to save time. Instead of hunting across dozens of sites in dozens of languages, you can find mountain profiles, routes, news, and weather in one portal — then follow the sources yourself to verify or read further.

Respect for copyright

We respect the copyright and license of every source. Cacumen does not copy articles in full — we present short summaries/paraphrases and always link to the original so credit is clear and you can read the full version at its source.

If you own the rights to some content and object to how it's presented here, let us know — we will promptly fix, add credit, or remove it. Contact cacumen@paiman.dev.
