Tomo Česen

Slovenia

Alpinis solo Slovenia yang namanya diabadikan pada Jalur Česen di K2; sejumlah klaim pendakiannya tetap kontroversial.

Tomislav "Tomo" Česen (born 5 November 1959) is a Slovenian mountaineer who specialises in solo ascents in the Alps and Himalaya. In 1986, aged 26, he reported enchaining the three great north faces of the Alps solo in winter, and later claimed a series of bold solos including No Siesta on the Grandes Jorasses and the south face of Lhotse (1990). Several of those claims — Lhotse in particular — are now doubted in the climbing community, making him a controversial figure; his solo line on K2 up to the Abruzzi Spur, however, is memorialised as the Česen Route.
