Sophie Lavaud is a French-Canadian-Swiss mountaineer and entrepreneur born in Lausanne. In June 2023 she became the sixth woman in the world to summit all 14 peaks above 8,000 metres — and the first French person, the first Canadian, and the first Swiss woman to do so. As of 2026 she remains the only Canadian to have ever completed all 14 eight-thousanders.
