Nazir Sabir is a mountaineer from Hunza, Pakistan, and one of the most influential figures in his country's climbing scene. He climbed four of Pakistan's five 8,000 m peaks — K2 (1981), Gasherbrum II and Broad Peak (1982), and Gasherbrum I (1992). On 17 May 2000 he became the first Pakistani to summit Everest, as part of Christine Boskoff's Mountain Madness expedition. He also runs the Karakoram-based outfitter Nazir Sabir Expeditions.
