Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer (born 1973) holding the world record for most Everest summits by a woman (11 times, 2000–2022). In 2000 she became the first Nepali woman to climb and descend Everest safely. She also summited K2 in July 2023. Her life story is documented in the Netflix film 'Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa' (2024), winner of the Grand Prize at the 2024 Kendal Mountain Festival.
