Krzysztof Wielicki (born 1950) is regarded as one of the greatest Polish mountaineers in history. He was the fifth person to climb all fourteen eight-thousanders and a pioneer of Himalayan winter climbing, including the first winter ascents of Everest, Kangchenjunga, and Lhotse.
