CLIMBER

Ken Noguchi

Japan

Japanese climber who became the youngest to complete the Seven Summits (1999) and led Everest cleanup campaigns.

Ken Noguchi (born 1973 in Boston) is a Japanese mountaineer and environmental activist who at age 25 became the then-youngest person to complete the Seven Summits, capped by Everest on 13 May 1999. Shocked by the trash on the mountain, he organized cleanup drives that removed about 8 tons of garbage from Everest and expanded his environmental advocacy to Mount Fuji, Manaslu, and environmental education.
