German world champion ice climber and the first woman to climb the mixed grade M11.

Born 5 April 1974 and raised in Bad Düben, Saxony, Ines Papert is a German alpine climber and world champion ice and mixed climber. Trained as a physiotherapist, she moved to Berchtesgaden in the Alps in 1993 and took up mountaineering, her first major climb being the Watzmann (2,713 m) in 1996. She won the overall Ice Climbing World Cup in 2006 and three more titles afterwards, became the first woman to climb the mixed grade M11, and on 13 November 2013 made the first ascent of Likhu Chuli (6,719 m) in Nepal, reaching the summit alone.
