Conrad Anker (born 27 November 1962, California) is an American mountaineer, rock climber, and author. In 1999 he discovered George Mallory's body on the slopes of Everest, partly answering the mystery of the 1924 expedition. In 2011 he completed the first ascent of the legendary 'Shark's Fin' route on Meru Peak in the Indian Himalaya with Jimmy Chin and Renan Ozturk — a story told in the documentary Meru (2015). Anker led The North Face climbing team for 26 years until 2018 and co-founded the Khumbu Climbing Center to train Nepali climbers.
