Bulgarian zoologist with insulin-dependent diabetes who climbed 10 eight-thousanders without supplemental oxygen or Sherpa support.

Boyan Petrov (1973–disappeared 2018) was a Bulgarian zoologist at the National Museum of Natural History in Sofia and a high-altitude climber. He summited 10 of the 14 eight-thousanders, all without supplemental oxygen or Sherpa support, despite insulin-dependent diabetes, and was the first Bulgarian on Gasherbrum I, Kangchenjunga, K2 and Manaslu. He disappeared on Shishapangma in May 2018.
