The first Indonesian to officially climb the summit of Everest (26 April 1997) as a member of the Kopassus team.
A former TNI Kopassus soldier from Malang, East Java, who became the first Indonesian officially recognized for conquering Everest on 26 April 1997. Part of the Kopassus expedition formed by Prabowo Subianto, he succeeded in raising the Indonesian flag atop the world's highest peak and is recorded as the first person in Southeast Asia to achieve that feat.
