Climbed Everest 21 times in a row (1990–2011) — a world record for many years; founder of the Apa Sherpa Foundation for the education of Nepali children.

Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer nicknamed 'Super Sherpa' who holds the record of summiting Everest 21 times between 1990 and 2011, a record he held until 2017. He stopped climbing at his wife's request after his 21st summit. In 2009 he founded the Apa Sherpa Foundation to provide education and improve livelihoods for children in Nepal's mountain communities.
