Description
Zard-Kuh, or Zard-Kuh-e Bakhtiari ('Bakhtiari Yellow Mountain'), is a sub-range in the central Zagros Mountains of Iran. Its highest peak, Kolonchin (Kalonchin), reaches 4,221 m and lies in Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province. The mountain is the source of two of Iran's major rivers — the Karun and the Zayanderud — which rise in the Zagros near Zard-Kuh. Thanks to relatively high precipitation, small glaciers survive on the massif; they are the only glaciers in the subtropics outside the Himalayas, the Andes, and the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. Geologically, Zard-Kuh sits in the Sanandaj–Sirjan structural zone and is composed mainly of Cretaceous limestone. The area is also bound up with the culture of the nomadic Bakhtiari people, whose annual migration across Zard-Kuh was captured in the classic 1925 documentary film 'Grass'.

Routes
Ski-mountaineering (skimo) musim dingin
Berat (ski alpine ketinggian tinggi)In winter, Zard-Kuh becomes a ski-mountaineering destination: climbers ascend the snow slopes on skins, then ski down, taking advantage of the central Zagros's heavy snowfall. It demands ski skills on alpine terrain, avalanche awareness, and proper avalanche-safety gear.
SourceClimbing Experiences
