Description
Wolo Neo is a hill in the central highlands of Flores island, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, at roughly 8.617°S 121.734°E — about 1,700 km east of Jakarta. The element "wolo" is a common toponymic marker for a hill or mountain in the Lio/Ende language of Flores. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by the GeoNames/NGA-GNS geographic database, its summit stands about 290 m above sea level with a local prominence of about 73 m above the surrounding terrain, and a base width of about 1.1 km. The land is hilly to the northwest and becomes mountainous to the southeast; the nearest higher point, Keli Lepembusu (about 1,745 m), lies some 10.5 km to the southeast. The surroundings are almost entirely farmland with a moderate population density (about 56 people/km²). Its climate is savanna: mean temperature about 22 °C (hottest October ~24 °C, coldest June ~21 °C) and annual rainfall around 1,520 mm (wettest February ~287 mm, driest September ~5 mm). No hiking trail, tourism coverage, or specific local record could be found for this hill; this profile is compiled from open geographic databases (Wikidata, GeoNames-derived Cebuano Wikipedia, and OpenStreetMap), and its data limitations are stated plainly.
