Description

Chaparrastique, or Volcán de San Miguel, is an active volcano in eastern El Salvador, with a Wikidata elevation of 2,129 m. Its cone dominates the area near San Miguel. Historical trip reports describe forest, coffee plantations, red rock and loose volcanic slopes. Those accounts do not establish present tourist access: a November 2025 report quotes MARN urging people not to climb. The experiences and older routes here are retained as historical documentation.
