Description

Veleta (3,396 m in Wikidata) stands in the Sierra Nevada, Granada, Spain. It is second highest in the Sierra Nevada after Mulhacén, but third in the Iberian Peninsula after Mulhacén and Aneto. Walkers can start at Hoya de la Mora or shorten the ascent using seasonal access higher up the mountain. Estimates for an upper start therefore do not describe the full walk from Hoya de la Mora.
