Description
Vardousia (Βαρδούσια) is a jagged limestone massif in the Phocis and Phthiotis regions of Central Greece, whose highest peak Korakas (Κόρακας) reaches 2,495 m — the second-highest summit in Central Greece after Giona. The range is a southern extension of the Pindus mountains and stretches about 25 km north to south, divided into Northern Vardousia (peak Sinani), the very steep Western Vardousia (peak Soufles), and Southern Vardousia where Korakas stands. Its slopes are drained by tributaries of the Spercheios, Mornos and Evinos rivers. Among Greek hikers, Vardousia is known as one of the country's wildest and most photogenic mountains: soaring white rock walls, serrated ridges and lonely high plateaus. Ascents of Korakas typically start from villages such as Athanasios Diakos, Mousounitsa or Sykia, often via a mountain refuge, following long rocky routes that demand stamina, careful navigation and respect for fast-changing mountain weather.

Routes
SourceKorakas lewat koridor "Asanser" (lift)
SourceClimbing Experiences
Experiences on Vardousia centre on the long ascent to the Korakas summit (2,495 m), the second-highest peak in Central Greece. The footage is dominated by Greek hiking clubs recording routes from the villages of Athanasios Diakos and Ano Mousounitsa via the refuges at Pitimaliko, as well as the most demanding line known as the "Asanser" (elevator) — a steep couloir up to the summit ridge. The videos show white limestone walls, serrated ridges, light scrambling and lonely high plateaus, confirming Vardousia's reputation as one of Greece's wildest and most photogenic mountains.
