Description
Tserko Ri (also spelled Tsergo Ri, roughly 4,985–5,033 m depending on the source) is the highest point commonly climbed on the Langtang Valley trek and one of Nepal's finest Himalayan viewpoints. Unlike a snowbound expedition peak, Tserko Ri is a non-technical viewpoint summit: trekkers set out from the village of Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) well before dawn and climb steeply for about 3–4 hours up a rocky ridge to the prayer-flag cairns at the top. The reward is a stunning 360° panorama: the icy wall of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) rising directly across the valley, plus Langtang Ri, Kimshung, Naya Kang, Yala Peak, and on clear days the silhouette of Shishapangma (8,027 m) on the Tibetan border. The approach begins at Syabrubesi and follows the forested Langtang valley — devastated by the great 2015 earthquake and since rebuilt — passing the famous cheese factory and Buddhist monastery at Kyanjin Gompa. The Tserko Ri climb is often the emotional and physical high point of the whole Langtang journey.
Routes
Pendakian Subuh Kyanjin Gompa → Tserko Ri (pulang-pergi)
Sedang–berat (jalur berbatu curam tanpa bagian teknis, namun ketinggian mendekati 5.000 m menuntut aklimatisasi yang baik)The summit leg of the Langtang trek. From Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m), trekkers set out around 04:00 and follow a continuously climbing rocky ridge on the east side of the valley. This ~1,150 m ascent feels hard because of the altitude; a slow pace and good acclimatisation (usually two nights at Kyanjin Gompa) are strongly advised. The Tserko Ri summit (about 4,985–5,033 m) is marked by cairns and prayer flags and opens a 360° panorama: Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) across the valley, Langtang Ri, Naya Kang, Yala Peak, and on clear days Shishapangma (8,027 m) on the Tibetan border. Descend by the same route back to Kyanjin Gompa.
SourcePendekatan Lembah Langtang (Syabrubesi → Lama Hotel → Langtang → Kyanjin Gompa)
Sedang (trekking teahouse bertahap yang dirancang untuk aklimatisasi; jalur hutan dan lembah bertanda jelas)The approach that must be walked to reach the base for climbing Tserko Ri. Starting from Syabrubesi (1,550 m) after a drive from Kathmandu, the trail follows the Langtang River through forest to Lama Hotel, then climbs gradually past Langtang village (rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake) up to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m). This multi-day approach is important for gradual acclimatisation before attempting Tserko Ri, and at Kyanjin Gompa trekkers can visit the cheese factory and Buddhist monastery while resting to adjust to the altitude.

Tserko Ri (about 4,985–5,033 m) is the highest viewpoint on the Langtang Valley trek, climbed from Kyanjin Gompa in a steep 3–4 hour pre-dawn push. Its summit opens a panorama of Langtang Lirung, Shishapangma, and the Tibetan-border Himalaya. The vlogs and guides below capture a range of experiences — from challenging snowy ascents to full itinerary guides from Syabrubesi to Kyanjin Gompa.
