Description
Torre Cerredo (2,648 m) is the highest summit of the Picos de Europa and the high point of Asturias in the Cantabrian Mountains of northern Spain. The easiest ascent usually starts from the Vega de Urriellu refuge, crossing the dramatic Corona del Raso and Jou de Cerredo before reaching the Collado del Jou de Cerredo (~2,300 m). The final section is a rock climb of about 200 m graded II/II+ (with occasional grade III moves), roughly 4–5 hours from the refuge, with helmet and stiff mountain boots required. Although only lower-PD in alpine terms, it is high-mountain terrain with some poorly marked sections, demanding experience, good fitness, and map-and-compass navigation.

Routes
Ascensión sebagai atap Asturias (Picos de Europa)
Menuntut — medan tinggi minim penandaThe official description presents Torrecerredo as the roof of Asturias and the Picos de Europa, with an ascent through high-mountain terrain. The route stresses proper gear, water and food, good fitness, mountain-route experience, and map-and-compass navigation since some areas are poorly marked. It is not an ordinary walk: there is a climbing section near the summit.
SourceVía Normal dari Refugio de la Vega de Urriellu
Alpine PD — panjatan batu II/II+The normal route starts from the Vega de Urriellu refuge, crossing Corona del Raso and Jou de Cerredo on cairned terrain, then dropping to the Collado del Jou de Cerredo (~2,300 m). The final section is a rock climb of about 200 m graded II/II+ (with occasional grade III moves) to the 2,648 m summit. Rated lower-PD in alpine terms, but the high terrain and faint markings require a helmet, stiff boots, and experience.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Accounts of Torre Cerredo highlight its status as the roof of the Picos de Europa and Asturias: the long approach from the Urriellu refuge, the limestone landscape of Jou de Cerredo, and the final grade II/II+ climb to the summit. Drone footage and guide write-ups stress the high terrain, faint cairn markings, and the need for a helmet and alpine experience.
