Description
Tanjung Balit is a peak roughly 1,292 metres above sea level in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. According to available sources it lies in the area around Lake Maninjau — a well-known caldera lake in Agam Regency — and rises about 226 metres above the surrounding terrain, with a base some 2.9 km wide. The highest point nearby is Mount Singgalang (2,877 m), about 17.6 km to the east, so Tanjung Balit forms part of the hill and mountain country of the Bukit Barisan range. The surroundings are largely forested with a tropical climate, an average temperature near 21 °C, and rainfall of about 2,700 mm per year. Tanjung Balit is a peak with little dedicated documentation: its data derives mainly from geographic-name databases (NGA GNS) and the SRTM elevation model recorded in OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Cebuano Wikipedia, with no independent hiking route or tourism coverage. This page presents only what verified sources state.
