Description
Stawamus Chief is a 702 m granite monolith in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. Its three summits attract hikers with views over Howe Sound, Squamish, and the surrounding mountains. Trails from the parking area near the campground follow Oleson Creek before branching toward each summit. BC Parks describes the hike as steep and difficult; its short distance does not make it an easy outing. The cliffs also support rock climbing, with some closures protecting nesting peregrine falcons.

Routes
First Peak Trail (Rute Utama)
Berat / DifficultFrom the parking area near the campground, follow Oleson Creek and the First Peak branch. BC Parks lists 1.5 km to the summit and 540 m of gain; the 3 km shown here is the calculated out-and-back distance.
SourceSecond & Third Peak Traverse
Berat / DifficultTourism Squamish describes a 7 km return outing that climbs Second Peak and follows orange markers to Third Peak, allowing 6–7 hours. The connecting section passes North Gully. These figures cover those two peaks, not a three-peak circuit; stay clear of cliff edges.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Five hiking videos are complemented by an Earth Trekkers firsthand account of visiting all three peaks. The writers encountered snow in mid-March, preferred the views from Second Peak, and found the ravine descent very steep. Their visit does not establish current trail conditions.
