Description
Singu Chuli (6,501 m), also known as 'Fluted Peak' for its fluted snow slopes, is one of Nepal's highest and most technical trekking peaks. It stands just west of Gangapurna in the Annapurna massif, on a ridge running south from Tarke Kang and continuing towards Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak). Although classed as a 'trekking peak' by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Singu Chuli demands real ice-climbing ability: steep ice and snow, fluted ridges, and terrain far more serious than other popular trekking peaks. Its approach passes one of the Himalaya's most dramatic settings — the Annapurna Sanctuary — before branching to the Singu Chuli base camp and high camp. The peak was first climbed by Wilfrid Noyce and David Cox in 1957. Because of its combination of altitude, technical difficulty and objective hazard, Singu Chuli suits experienced climbers stepping up from ordinary trekking peaks to genuine alpine-style ascents.

Routes
Rute Normal — via Annapurna Sanctuary → Base Camp → Kamp Tinggi → Puncak (lereng barat laut)
Alpine PD+/AD: lereng es/salju curam dan punggung beralur (fluted) yang menuntut panjat es, tali tetap, crampon, dan kapak esSingu Chuli's normal route follows the classic Annapurna Sanctuary trek — from Pokhara via Chomrong, Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp — before branching to the Singu Chuli base camp at the foot of its northwest slopes. From base camp the expedition sets a high camp above the glacier, then attacks the summit via steep ice and snow and the fluted ridges that give the peak its name. Despite its trekking-peak status, the terrain demands genuine ice-climbing ability and fixed ropes; avalanche danger on the fluted slopes makes timing and snow conditions critical. The 6,501 m summit gives panoramas of Annapurna I, Gangapurna and Machhapuchhre. Success depends on acclimatisation through the Sanctuary and a stable weather window in spring or autumn.

Climbing Experiences
Singu Chuli is a rarely climbed trekking peak owing to its technical difficulty. The footage and expedition guides below give a real picture of the mountain — the approach through the Annapurna Sanctuary, the base camp beneath its fluted slopes, and the demanding ice climbing to the 6,501 m summit.
