Description
Seweweekspoortpiek (Afrikaans, roughly 'Seven Weeks Defile Peak', 2,325 m) is the highest mountain in South Africa's Western Cape province and the high point of the Cape Fold Belt — the folded sandstone/quartzite mountain chain of the Cape. It rises in the Klein Swartberg range directly above Seweweekspoort, a historic gravel mountain pass and gorge that winds between dramatic cliffs. Together with its western neighbour Du Toits Peak, it qualifies as an 'Ultra' (topographic prominence over 1,500 m) — the only two Ultras in South Africa. Reaching the summit is a long, steep full-day outing (about 1,500 m of ascent from the floor of the poort); it is non-technical but demands fitness, navigation and readiness for fast-changing weather. The reward is a sweeping panorama over the Klein Karoo, the greater Swartberg and the plains around Ladismith below.

Routes
Pendekatan selatan dari Hoeko (via gua)
Berat (jarak panjang, ~1.500 m tanjakan, non-teknis)The southern route starts at Hoeko: about 6–8 hours of hiking to a cave used for an overnight before continuing to the 2,325 m summit the next day. Non-technical but demanding in stamina, navigation and supplies. Landowner permission is required in advance.
SourcePendekatan utara dari lembah Vleiland (car-to-car)
Berat (lebih pendek namun lebih curam)The northern route from the Vleiland valley is shorter but steeper, typically done as a 'car-to-car' up-and-down day hike of about 6–10 hours. Requires good fitness and weather preparation; landowner permission is mandatory.
