Description
Rob Roy Peak (2,644 m) is a mountain in Otago, on New Zealand's South Island, standing in the heart of the Southern Alps within Mount Aspiring National Park — part of the Te Wāhipounamu UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its relief is dramatic: the summit rises about 2,144 m above the west branch of the Matukituki River in just 4 km. Its nearest higher neighbour is Mount Aspiring / Tititea, 7 km to the north. It is named after the Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor (1671–1734), and the summit was first climbed on 2 March 1935. Its slopes hold the Rob Roy Glacier and the Maud Francis Glacier. For most visitors the main draw is the Rob Roy Glacier Track — a popular day walk from Raspberry Creek in the Matukituki Valley that passes through beech forest before opening onto views of the bluffs and the hanging glacier high on the mountain's face.

Routes
Pendakian puncak alpine (pendakian pertama 1935)
Alpine teknis — bergletser & curamThe true summit of Rob Roy Peak (2,644 m) requires a glaciated alpine climb over steep relief — the summit rises about 2,144 m above the west branch of the Matukituki in just 4 km. It was first climbed on 2 March 1935; this is far from the day walk and suited only to experienced alpinists.

Sedang, non-teknis — day walkA popular day walk from the Raspberry Creek car park in the Matukituki Valley: cross the swing bridge over the Matukituki River, climb through beech forest alongside Rob Roy Stream, then emerge into an open valley with panoramas of the bluffs and the Rob Roy hanging glacier. It is not a summit climb but a viewpoint at the foot of the mountain's face.
