Description

Pico Cristóbal Colón (5,775 m) is a mountain in Colombia, one of the notable peaks of the Americas.

Routes

Gletser Colón & Col Colón–Bolívar (sisi selatan)

Sangat berat (alpin salju-es; sekitar 5.6 M2 pada variasi puncak)
10–14 hari (gaya ekspedisi)

A glaciated approach linking the massif's two highest summits. From a high camp (~4,750 m) on the Colón Glacier — reached after multi-day jungle bushwhacking and permit coordination with the Arhuaco/Kogi communities — parties climb snow and ice to the Colón–Bolívar col, where the summit routes for Pico Cristóbal Colón and neighbouring Simón Bolívar diverge; the south-face variation adds a technical mixed-rock step (up to M5 5.9) before the summit ridge.

Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (terpencil)

Sangat berat
10–14 hari

Sangat terpencil di Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Kolombia; akses kerap dibatasi masyarakat adat. Ekspedisi panjang menembus hutan & glasier.

Climbing Experiences

Pico Cristóbal Colón (~5,700 m), Colombia's highest peak in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta—a glaciated massif rising close to the Caribbean Sea. Ascents are rare: access is often restricted by indigenous communities (Arhuaco/Kogi), requiring long expeditions and glacier skills. Climbers highlight acclimatization, indigenous permits, and new technical lines on the north/south faces.
