Description
Pematang Marukaluang is a low hill (ridge) in western Indonesia, on the eastern coastal plain of Sumatra (Riau area), about 1,100 km northwest of Jakarta. Based on the digital elevation model (Viewfinder Panoramas) and GeoNames data cited by Wikipedia, its high point is only about 39 m above sea level and rises roughly 10 m above the surrounding terrain, with a base some 0.67 km wide. The land around it is very flat; a slightly higher point (~44 m) lies about 4.6 km to the west. The surrounding population density is fairly high (~90 people/km²), reflecting a settled lowland setting rather than a mountain area. Given its very small height, it is better described as a local rise or ridge than a mountain in the usual sense. No climbing routes, summit photos, or local accounts are documented in open sources, so this profile is limited to verified geographic data.
