Description
Pelister (2,601 m) is the highest summit of the Baba massif in southwestern North Macedonia and the heart of Pelister National Park — the country's oldest national park, established in 1948. The peak rises directly above the city of Bitola and is the third-highest mountain in North Macedonia. Pelister is famous for its forests of Molika pine (Pinus peuce), a five-needle Balkan-endemic relic pine that has become the park's symbol. High on the mountain lie two clear glacial lakes nicknamed the 'Eyes of Pelister' (Pelisterski Oči) — the Big Lake (Golemo Ezero, around 2,218 m) and the Small Lake (Malo Ezero) — popular hiking destinations. The park protects high biodiversity, including brown bears, deer and many bird species. Reaching the Pelister summit is generally a non-technical mountain trek in summer, often started from the Nižepole ski area or the village of Dihovo near Bitola, on trails through Molika forest to open ridges and a summit with broad views over the Pelagonia plain.

Routes
Puncak Pelister dari Hotel Molika (jalur selatan) — lanjut ke Golemo Ezero
Sedang (trek gunung bertanda baik, tanpa alat teknis di musim panas)A hiking route from Hotel Molika (in the Molika-pine belt above Bitola) directly to the Pelister summit (2,601 m), taking about 5–6 hours with broad views over Bitola. From the summit many hikers continue down to the glacial Golemo Ezero lake (about 2 hours) to form a loop. The trail passes through centuries-old Molika pine forest, wildflower meadows and open ridges; well-marked but still exposed to wind and fast weather changes.

It generally starts from the Nižepole ski area or the village of Dihovo near Bitola, passing through Molika pine forest, by the glacial 'Eyes of Pelister' (Golemo Ezero, around 2,218 m), then up onto open ridges to the summit. Non-technical in summer but exposed to wind and fast-changing weather.

Climbing Pelister (2,601 m) in Pelister National Park is generally a non-technical mountain trek in summer. Popular trails pass through Molika pine (Pinus peuce) forest to the glacial 'Eyes of Pelister' lakes — the Big Lake (Golemo Ezero) and the Small Lake — then up onto open ridges and a summit with broad views over the Pelagonia plain and the city of Bitola. Beyond the videos, this now includes verified-live textual sources: a self-guided trek guide, a hiker's travelogue, a national-park guide, and a PeakVisor data sheet. Hikers highlight the beauty of the Molika forest, clear alpine lakes, well-marked trails, strong ridge winds, and the national-park setting with wildlife including brown bears and chamois.
