Description
Pedra do Sino, 2,275 metres high, is the highest point of Serra dos Órgãos National Park (PARNASO) in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, its summit lying in the municipality of Guapimirim. It is one of south-eastern Brazil's most classic hikes: the main trail climbs about 6 kilometres from the Teresópolis park headquarters with more than 1,200 metres of ascent, passing waterfalls, Atlantic Forest and kilometre markers before opening onto windy rock fields near the top, usually taking 4–5 hours. Near the summit stands Abrigo 4, a mountain shelter at roughly 2,200 metres that serves as a support post and control point for the high area. Pedra do Sino is also the high point of the Petrópolis–Teresópolis Traverse, Brazil's best-known multi-day ridge trek. PARNASO is managed by ICMBio: day hikes do not always need booking, but camping and overnight activities must be scheduled in advance, and pack-out-all-waste rules are strictly enforced.

Routes
Pendakian bermalam di kawasan Abrigo 4 (puncak)
Berat — jalur sama dengan beban perlengkapan bermalamMany hikers stay overnight in the high area near Abrigo 4, a mountain shelter around 2,200 metres that serves as a support post and control point for the upper park. Overnight activity must be booked through ICMBio's official scheduling system and is subject to entry-time limits; shelter sleeping availability can change, so hikers generally need a tent. All waste must be carried out and camping outside designated areas is prohibited.

Sangat berat — lintasan punggungan multihari dengan navigasi dan seksi berbatuThe Petrópolis–Teresópolis Traverse is Brazil's best-known ridge trek, crossing the Serra dos Órgãos massif with Pedra do Sino as its high point before dropping to Teresópolis. It passes the Vale das Antas and signature sections such as the Elevador and Cavalinho. Because it spends several days in the high country, the traverse requires PARNASO authorisation and booking, good fitness, and readiness for cloud and cold.

Berat — tanjakan panjang hampir tanpa jeda dengan tangga batu dan akarThe classic route to Pedra do Sino starts at the PARNASO Teresópolis headquarters and climbs about six kilometres with over 1,200 metres of ascent. It passes waterfalls low down, Atlantic Forest with kilometre markers, then opens onto windy rock fields near the summit. Visitors must register at the gate, show ID and pay the entry fee. Given the sustained climb, an early start is strongly advised to avoid descending in the dark.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Pedra do Sino is among the most-vlogged hikes in Brazil: day return trips from the Teresópolis headquarters, overnight climbs around Abrigo 4, and the Petrópolis–Teresópolis Traverse for which this summit is the high point. Recurring themes are the relentless ascent, fast-moving cloud, and the risk of descending after dark. All links are live-verified (YouTube via oEmbed, others via HTTP).
