Description

Pasir Rantung is a hill in Cikahuripan village, Gekbrong district, Cianjur Regency, West Java, Indonesia. In Sundanese, "pasir" means a hill or high mound (not sand), a very common West Java naming convention. Its summit sits at roughly 890–950 m above sea level: the Copernicus digital-elevation model (via Open-Meteo) reads about 893 m at its coordinates, while the GeoNames database (SRTM-derived) records about 951 m, some 76 m above the surrounding terrain. The hill rises among the ranges on the south-western flank of the Gede–Pangrango massif, about 13 km east of Sukabumi city and not far from the higher Gunung Gumuruh (2,894 m) to the north-west. Pasir Rantung is recorded as a named peak in the NGA-GNS toponym database, OpenStreetMap, and Wikidata (Q25163178), but there is as yet no documented official trail, ground-surveyed elevation, or verified climbing account.
