It sits on the north-eastern foot of Gunung Ciremai at roughly 798 m above sea level (digital-elevation-model estimate); Setianegara village directly borders the Gunung Ciremai protected forest / national park on its western side and was historically nicknamed "Gunung Deukeut" (the village nearest the mountain). The surrounding area is known for hill-based nature spots such as Bukit Lambosir and Palutungan, cool in climate and offering views of Ciremai. Pasir Randaminang is recorded as a named peak in the NGA-GNS toponym database and OpenStreetMap; as yet there is no dedicated trail, official surveyed elevation, or verified climbing account for this specific hill. Available information is limited to its location and its context as part of the Ciremai foothills.
