Description

Pasir Karasak is a forested hill/ridge in the mountains of southern Bandung, within the Ciwidey–Patuha upland area of West Java, Indonesia (near the Bandung–Cianjur regency border). In Sundanese, "pasir" means hill or ridge, not a sandy expanse. The summit is rarely climbed on its own and is better known as one waypoint on long-distance "tektok" traverses of the Ciwidey peaks — alongside Gunung Kunti, Kanti, Kasintu, and Pasir Cipuspa — a strenuous route (roughly 10 hours, expert level). Its elevation is uncertain: geospatial databases (NGA-GNS/OpenStreetMap) record ~1,813 m, while hiker logs and peak databases (e.g. hory.app, listed under Cianjur) place a "Pasir Karasak" at ~1,541 m. There is no official documentation or established standard trail, and the name "Pasir Karasak" is also used for other hills in West Java (e.g. a campground near Gununghalu), so information should be read with care.
