Description

Osu Wawondengi is a hill in Southeast Sulawesi province, Indonesia, at roughly 4.077°S 122.617°E — about 1,800 km east of Jakarta, in the Moramo area and some 15.8 km southeast of the city of Kendari. The word "osu" in the Tolaki language (the main language of mainland Southeast Sulawesi) means mountain or hill. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by the GeoNames/NGA-GNS geographic database, its summit stands about 299 m above sea level with a local prominence of about 32 m above the surrounding terrain, and a base width of about 0.84 km. The surrounding land is generally hilly and flattens to the east; a bay on its eastern side makes the sea the nearest feature. The nearest higher point stands about 447 m and lies some 2.1 km to the west. The surroundings are almost entirely forest-covered with moderate population density (about 52 people/km²), and small capes are common along this coast. Its climate is tropical: mean temperature about 23 °C (hottest October ~26 °C, coldest February ~22 °C) and annual rainfall around 2,729 mm (wettest June ~418 mm, driest September ~77 mm). No hiking trail, tourism coverage, or specific local record could be found for this hill; this profile is compiled from open geographic databases (Wikidata, GeoNames-derived Cebuano Wikipedia, and OpenStreetMap), and its data limitations are stated plainly.
