Description
Osu Tanggeau is a low hill in Southeast Sulawesi province, Indonesia — in the vicinity of Kolaka Regency — at roughly 4.464°S 121.648°E, about 1,700 km east of Jakarta. In the Tolaki language spoken in Southeast Sulawesi, "osu" means mountain or hill, so "Osu"-prefixed toponyms are widespread in the area. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by the GeoNames/NGA-GNS geographic database, its summit stands about 163 m above sea level with a topographic prominence of only ~57 m above the surrounding terrain and a base width of about 1.7 km — a gentle knoll rather than a climbing objective. The land around it is flat to the southwest but hilly to the northeast. The highest point nearby is Osu Laloora (about 662 m), some 18.9 km to the north. The surroundings are dominated by farmland with a sparse population (~22 people/km²) and a tropical climate (mean temperature ~24 °C, rainfall ~1,964 mm/yr). No hiking trail, tourism coverage, or specific local record could be found for this hill; this profile is compiled from open geographic databases, with its data limitations stated plainly.
