Routes
Nordgrat (Punggung Utara)
UIAA 3- dengan bantuan besi; pendekatan glasier membutuhkan keterampilan dan perlengkapan glasierThe approach from Geraer Hütte crosses alpine meadows, moraine and the Olpererferner toward Wildlahnerscharte. The ridge has sustained climbing with a short steep crux. Its 3- grade assumes use of the iron holds; ice on the rock makes the route much more serious. The quoted time returns by the same route; descending the Riepengrat and returning over Alpeiner Scharte adds about 4–5 hours according to the source.

UIAA 3-; medan alpine dengan pemanjatan dan kemungkinan salju/esFrom Olpererhütte, the path toward Riepenkopf branches onto the Riepengrat around 2,860 m. Boulder terrain leads to the Schneegupf and a short wall of about 15 m forms the crux. Bergsteigen.com records removal of the via ferrata cable there in 2024 while still listing some iron steps and bolts. Descend the ascent route; conditions and traffic affect timing.
SourceClimbing Experiences
Alpine club reports document the Riepengrat–Nordgrat traverse in both directions, showing how traffic, soft snow and weather affect timing. Older accounts describe conditions on their individual trip dates. The hike to Olpererhütte and its nearby bridge is separate from the technical summit climb.
