Description

Olat Tangenang is a hill on Sumbawa island, West Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia, at roughly 8.817°S 116.851°E — about 1,100 km east of Jakarta. The word "olat" in the Sumbawa language means hill or mountain. According to digital-elevation-model (DEM) data compiled by the GeoNames/NGA-GNS geographic database, its summit stands about 316 m above sea level with a local prominence of about 62 m above the surrounding terrain, and a base width of about 0.29 km. The surrounding land is generally hilly; the nearest higher point stands about 501 m and lies some 1.1 km to the northeast. The surroundings are almost entirely forest-covered and very sparsely populated (about 23 people/km²), with small bays common in the region. Its climate is a dry savanna type: mean temperature about 22 °C (hottest October ~24 °C, coldest July ~21 °C) and annual rainfall around 1,693 mm (wettest January ~373 mm, driest August ~8 mm). No hiking trail, tourism coverage, or specific local record could be found for this hill; this profile is compiled from open geographic databases (Wikidata, GeoNames-derived Cebuano Wikipedia, and OpenStreetMap), and its data limitations are stated plainly.
