Description

Nuaf Pael is a hill about 530 metres above sea level in East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, in the West Timor region. Its name comes from the Uab Meto (Dawan) language spoken in central Timor, in which 'nuaf' means mountain or hill. Nuaf Pael rises only about 25 metres above the surrounding terrain, with a base roughly 0.47 km wide, so it is better described as a hill than a major mountain. The nearest town is Kefamenanu, capital of North Central Timor Regency, about 9.7 km to the east, while the highest point nearby is Tubu Nunete (984 m) some 5.2 km to the south-west. The setting is scrub- and savanna-covered hill country typical of Timor, with a fairly dense rural population. Information on this hill is very limited and derives mainly from geographic-name databases (NGA GNS) and the SRTM elevation model recorded in OpenStreetMap, Wikidata and Cebuano Wikipedia; there is no independent hiking route or tourism coverage. This page presents only what verified sources state.
